We've been using this for our 10-month-old and the snaps on the sides really help contain the mess when we're out hiking. The grey lining hides stains well, though getting it to fit a wiggly toddler takes a bit of practice.

It works fine for containing the smell on the go, but the snaps are a bit fiddly to line up correctly with a wiggly baby. The inside lining is soft enough, though I wish it had a bit more padding for heavier infants.
